Spotlight on... M4SS PRODUCTION

Local duo M4SS PRODUCTION, or simply M4SS, burst out from the banks of the Tyne earlier in the year with their debut single Council Estate Warrior, 2 minutes of classic punk brought into 2020 and delivered at a blistering pace. Laced with potent observational lyricism amongst the genre staple chants of “Oi! Oi! Oi!”, Council Estate Warrior encapsulates the spirit of punk with its descriptions of life in the land that tories forgot. When paired with the incredible energy and all gas, no brakes instrumental, the track becomes an unapologetic and bold announcement of the lads’ presence in the local scene. Hopefully the two can carry on this relentless energy and DIY spirit into further releases, turning a bold entrance into a bold testament to the staying power of punk in the hearts and the ears of this generation, both of listeners and of aspiring musicians. 

Council Estate Warrior is worth a listen for anyone who appreciates the DIY sound of bands like Slaves and is looking for a track with plenty of energy that doesn’t let up.
